- The first difference is that they are part of different families. The Gators are part of the family Alligatoridae, crocodiles are part of the family Crocodylidae.
- When an alligator's mouth shut, you can view your upper and lower teeth, meanwhile, when an alligator's mouth shut, you can only see his upper teeth.
- The crocodile's snout is long and narrow, while the snout of the Caiman is short and broad.
