Alligator or Crocodile?

You know an alligator from a crocodile? These cousins may even be very similar, but if we stay on the lookout for some characteristics, it is easy to tell them apart!
  1. The first difference is that they are part of different families. The Gators are part of the family Alligatoridae, crocodiles are part of the family Crocodylidae.
  2. When an alligator's mouth shut, you can view your upper and lower teeth, meanwhile, when an alligator's mouth shut, you can only see his upper teeth.
  3. The crocodile's snout is long and narrow, while the snout of the Caiman is short and broad.
